...7 Weeks Old

Yesterday was raining and wonderful. Káel and I cuddled in bed after a little bit of a tough night. He didn't quite feel his best while the stars were out. (Those dreaded sniffles made him a little squirmy.) It's those kinda nights and moments where I find myself thinking, I wish I knew everything - what he needs at this moment or that moment, what to do for such and such symptom. But in the morning, we sang gently and felt all cozy together. Both of us sniffling, yet smiling.

I decided to get up, put together a cute outfit and put some hot momma makeup on...you know, the works. Was I getting out and going anywhere? No, but it sure made me feel better and feel more motivated. I got one of little Forest man's new get ups to put on him and out the door to our wooded yard we headed, bringing along with us, one of my several old afghans, my camera and my little dude to enjoy the light fall day. All the leaves were plastered on the cement from the rain shower we had that morning. It was marvelous!

Mr. Long Legs

I can't get over how much he is growing. It seems like he's getting SO long. His little long legs are almost never still. It's almost like you can see him thinking, "Come ON, I want to go! I want to get up and GO Momma!" Soon little man, soon... not too fast please, mommy wants to cuddle you a little longer.

He looooves light.

I LOVE the woods. They are my sanctuary. Everything going on, suddenly is framed in perfectness there. Mmmmmm... Give me some leaves and some trees please. Yes, thank you.

Boho Momma's get up included:

Scandinavian styled sweater dress from Anthropologie
Some Grey leggings from Target
Crochet vest (it's a staple) from the Buckle
Minnentonka moccasins, turned down and tied off with leather strips.
Leafy green knit slouch hat
Some mismatched feather and brass ear-bobs, along with a wooden bangle.

(The true mark of a boho's garb is incorporating the varied influences of different cultures, textures and patterns in your style...reflecting your "free as a bird spirit".)

These are my knee high fringies from Minnetonka. I've been seeing and liking the fold over leather boots that are everywhere right now...So, I temporarily converted these into a new boot by not zipping them up all the way - folding them over and tying leather strips around them. *smile*

Am I a different person since I had my little human make his debut out of my "desperately in need of toning" tummy? Absolutely. He has transformed me. Has it changed who I am? No, but he has added more sunshine to the picture. Yeah, the sunshine gets some rainy clouds at times...But, we need the rain to grow, right? And, I like playing in the rain, so it works.

I always pictured myself being someone's sweetheart, someone's wife and someone's mommy
"one day." But, each time I've found myself actually living in each picture, I find it hard to believe. Some place inside of me still thinks "oh, one day..." Wake up Jess, you've jumped into the painting, in a beautiful dream world that's more real than your bestest dreams. Come on! I have the most amazing husband, who I adore and who ruins my heart with unexplainable love everyday, a freaking amazing little boy and a circle of family and friends that are jewels to my heart.

Ha, remember on Mary Poppins, when they jump in the chalk drawings that come alive? Well, I'm wiping off the chalk dust now. :)

Life, you are a wonderful thing.
