GUEST BLOGGER
Hello Everyone...
Jess asked me to "guest blog" for her about some baby things I made last winter! (Before my little lady was born)... I didn't have a baby to practice on, but I did have a doll... (don't judge the little doll) To stay posted on the new things I'm working on, check my blog out here!
Enjoy!
Anna
P.S. Isn't that little Káel a dream!
So it all started when we were snowed in several weeks ago... I was trying to be productive and clean out my "art" closet for the new little babe thats coming and I found some art supplies and fabric. I thought it would be so fun if I could figure out how to use my sewing machine. (or my mother's machine that is forever on loan) Previous to this venture I have only sewn one apron during a class I took at Queens, in which the teacher became ill and I never finished the class...
With some time on my hands, and the snowy streets keeping me indoors I began to create- using one pattern and then imagining from there. (or trial and error) Whenever I got stuck (or jammed the machine) I would You-Tube a sewing demo! You can learn everything on there!!!
So... my addiction began and here is my baby collection so far!
This dress is my most proud effort I think.
Since I'm not a big fan of a lot of baby prints and girly pinks I began rummaging through some of my old clothes to get some ideas. Then I had a new idea! This is one of my sweater-shirts that I turned into a baby outfit!!!
This is the most funny to me. This is also one of my shirts, although it looks like my little doll model is ready to go to a Kiss concert in this jumper outfit. (My husband thinks this doll is the weirdest thing- it's just that it's my only model at the moment... :)
Summer jumper with hand-sewn headband.
High-wasted skirt, handmade bird appliqué and hand-sewn headband!
This is a larger size for 18 months, but you get the idea.
These are Target little boy shoes that I added little buttons to make them a little more girly.
Wipes case!
Weird but cute bird animal.
If I can get it together, I may start a line that will sell on Etsy... SEW I'll let you know!
(puns never get old to me)
And as proof that my baby can wear my little wonder creations... here she is happily sporting her mamma's designs!
Headband cut from Daddy's soccer hair-tie...
Tiny dancer outfit, made from my old shirt!
Anna you are so talented. Jess way to showcase a friend and encourage her all at the same time. Anna let me know when you start selling on Etsy so I can promote you too!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are too cute :) I like them a lot. I've always wanted to have a go at a sewing machine... This might inspire me to actually DO that!!! :) :) :)
