Fall Party!

posted on: Friday, September 30, 2011

Hey lovelies! Fall is hands down my favorite time of the year...all though, I find myself saying that at the beginning of every new season. ;) But, for reals, fall IS my ultimate fav. Cooler weather, pumpkins, corn mazes, yummy smelling candles, apple cider, the crisp air and every harvest colored thing, are just dreamy to me. And, of course with me being born and raised in Dallas, watching professional football is a weakness of mine too ~ not gonna lie. ;) One thing I love about changing seasons is, that it's an excuse to have a party. ( I LOOOOVE throwing parties!) I also love to change the feel of the decor in my house and explore new recipes or bring out old ones.

When I was recently approached by one of my blogging friends, Casey, to participate in this blog party thing (called a blog hop), I got excited! I've never done anything like this before.  But, I love connecting with and being inspired by other gals out there in the blogsphere so, I can't wait! Below is a flyer that you can read to see what it is all about.  I'm putting together a really chic fall party for this event and I can't wait to share! Antique Junk

posted on: Monday, September 26, 2011

Last week, 4 of my girlfriends and I, went on an antique junk yard extravaganza. Let me say, it was one of the best times I've had in a very long while. Just to make it even better, it was the first day that it was chilly enough to justify a jacket and boots! *squeal* We all loaded up, pulling a trailer, as we drove along for all of our goodies that we knew we'd find! The place is a good 45 minutes away, which gave us some good road trip, girl time.

Oh man, I can't even tell you how much fun we had! It was drizzling as we went on the hunt for treasures in all the barns and open fields that were  full of junk and stuff. I can spend hours in places like this. It's just all so dreamy to me, with all the yuck and old and musty...I still love it!  I snapped some pics to share the joy with you guys! Enjoy!

Jessie's first time in the "dresser barn."
Caitlyn (and Tillie) picking out some awesome doors for a headboard.

Some of our amazing finds!
My FAVORITE finds of all time. This freaking awesome clock in the back has gorgeous, rusted, exposed gears and the black metal wind up clock still works. (I've mentioned it before, but for years I've been obsessed with old clocks! I have to use restraint. Otherwise I'll be crowded out of my house by tick-tocks.  haha!) $5 for both
New blanket stand (I finally found a ladder).
Great antique door for our bedroom.

By the way, Caitlyn's little sweetie Matilda Fair (Tillie) was born yesterday! I cannot tell you how excited all of us girls are that she is finally here! Eeeeee!!! All day yesterday we were hanging on every text message Jessie sent out, updating us on her progress. I showed a picture of Tillie to Káel and he kissed it 2 times! *melting* I kept tearing up, of course I've been tearing up all the time lately about anything to do with Forest and my friend's babies. I can't believe how many new, beautiful little souls have been born into our little community lately! It's crazy awesome! Ah! My friend Kara is just a couple weeks away from her baby boy's due date too! Babies, babies BABIES!

Double Baby Announcement

posted on: Sunday, September 25, 2011

Two of our dear friends went into labor on the same day last week! It's really kinda crazy cool! They were at the same birthing center at the same time and then ended up having their babies at the hospital in rooms right next door to each other! Talk about a bonding experience! Well, we were SO excited to get the joy of visiting them in the hospital. Josh and Sheila had their little princess named, Elloise and Jesse and Rebecca had their little prince named, David Luke! I swear when babies THIS cute start surrounding my world, I catch the fever in the air. Sam too! He's been drooling over Ellie from the first picture posted on instagram! She is seriously just like a china doll! haha. We both melted as we held David and listened to Becca and Jesse tell their amazing birth story. He had the sweetest little smile on his face, the entire time I held him. It was so precious. No, it was dangerous! haha!

Check out these little preshies! Eeee!!!

Elloise "Ellie" ~ isn't she perfect!
David Luke

David stole my heart...I'm so in love.

The little Forest was pretty excited to meet David and told him all about the adventures they would have.
I had to include this. I found the face crayons from Káel's party, right before we left for the hospital and couldn't resist. All the nurses who saw him in the hallway as we went to visit the babies seemed to get a kick out of it.

Destination Bride Shoot

posted on: Saturday, September 24, 2011

When we were at the beach this summer, my beautiful and amazing friend Anna did a beach bride photo shoot with me and several of our girl friends. You can see the full posts from our session, Part 1 and Part 2, plus the other shoots that she's done, on her blog! It was pretty much a blast getting to prance around the beach and pretend I was a model. ;)

A Little Break

posted on: Friday, September 23, 2011

My little adventurer is ready for some exploration in his new winter pilot hat from Baby Gap! He looks SOOO cute in it, I can hardly stand it!
Hey guys!  I wanted to touch base and let you know I haven't dropped off the edge of the blogging world. :)  The last couple of weeks, I kinda decided to take a spontaneous break and get unplugged for a bit, as far as blogging and facebook goes. Honestly, it has been really, really good for me.  I've been able to get SO much accomplished.  I have been unpacking the very last of our boxes, have had more nesting time in my little house (which has been a dream), plus enjoying and exploring new things and places with my manly men and friends.  This little breather has been fabulous for me and my brain seems to be less distracted and more relaxed. I think that's why I've gotten so much done.

During my break, I have so enjoyed so many simple moments with my Forest boy, throughout our day to day routine. He has been changing SO fast lately, it's like everyday there's something new.  I've been taking lots of pictures and plan on posting them soon so you can have a peek at some of our adventures and sweet moments.  I can't wait to share them with you.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

2 Year Anniversary

posted on: Monday, September 12, 2011

Two years ago today, surrounded by towering trees and friends, I started a life with THE most amazing, loyal, romantic, sweet and handsome man alive. We celebrated our anniversary this year with a couple's massage that was AMAZING and then a nice, fancy dinner. We finished the night with frozen yogurt and a relaxing stroll around Charlotte, while we reminisced about our love story and our dreams for the future. It felt SO wonderful to be able to be my crazy self, acting silly and twirling around on fountain ledges, trying to catch Samuel's eye in that flirty way. Oh how I enjoyed every moment of our anniversary celebration date! (Last year, I felt like I was a walking piece of tenderized meat, still recovering from Káel's birth.) What a difference a year makes!

I love you Samuel Gatlyn, you are my dream love.

Date Night

posted on: Friday, September 9, 2011

A few weeks ago, Sam bought us movie tickets off of Groupon.  We realized they expired soon, which meant DATE NIGHT! Our friends, David and Lorean (Micah's mom and dad), offered to watch our little man.  So, I put on some fancier than normal duds, my handsome husband swept me off my feet and we were off! I really love being surprised, even if it's a small surprise. So, I made sure not to see the title of the movie we were going to see. I was so excited when I saw that Sam had picked, "The Help"! That movie is amazing! If you have a chance, you really should go see it. We laughed, cried and left feeling so inspired. It has been a while since Samuel and I had a date night. It felt so wonderful to just be together without thinking about snacks or bedtimes. I made sure my heart was soaking every moment up of our "us" time.  While we were out, Lorean posted the sweetest instagram of Kael and Micah. It made my heart so happy. Our two babies LOVE having play time together!

Our 2nd wedding anniversary is this Monday but, we are going to try celebrating it this Saturday. I can't believe we have been married for 2 years!  In some ways, it feels like we've been married for so much longer, but in other ways, it feels like it was just yesterday when we got married.

Well guys, I'm going to go now and clean my little casa and enjoy the little preview of Fall weather we are getting. Hope you have a lovely weekend :)

Oh Samuel, I adore you, you gorgeous man!

Tunes & Such: Rabbit

posted on: Tuesday, September 6, 2011

When did Rabbit start becoming one of my favorite bands? When I first found out about them on Pacing the Panic Room blog, which has been one of my favorite reads for a few years. Oh dang, their music makes me happy. You can't really be in a bad mood or stay in one long while you listen to them. It's the kind of  music that makes you dance around in your morning pajamas like a crazy with your kids. It's the perfect happy mood music to play in your house and for egging on more spontaneous smiles and dance parties than you can count! They have created 3 albums all together so far and a new album out called Go For It that is amazing. (Click HERE) You should get it, for reals. The video below is a simple, live recording of "Pea" which I have claimed as mine and Samuel's song in my mind. I freaking LOVE it! ;) They also are on the collaboration cd called "Do Fun Stuff" which is a kids recording for parents. So, get some of their tunes, dance around your house, be a crazy jamming fool in your car and enjoy!
The florida based band is made up of Yara, Ashton, Emma and Devin (left to right)

Boho Inspiration: Jose Villa

Oh man, the inspiration levels in my heart were SO spiking and happy, when I found this blog post by Jose Villa. Looking at all of these beautiful photos made me instantly long for my time in Israel and the colorful, sandy middle eastern culture that woos my heart like nothing else. Sigh. You really need to click HERE to see the rest of his photos from this post! There are SO many more amazing images! For all my boho lovers, get ready... ;)

Georgia Bound

posted on: Friday, September 2, 2011

I have so many things I want to post, document and share with you guys from the past week! This weekend, we are heading to Georgia to visit Sam's Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma Gatlyn has been having a really rough few weeks and it has made for a very emotional time for all of us. There were lots of tears and heart ache as we got news and updates. Sam's Grandparents are so in love and devoted to each other.  Seeing and hearing that love they have through all of this has been gut wrenching and inspiring to my heart.  It looks like she is getting better now and we are praying and believing that will continue. We are hauling little boy and a packed bag, down to see her to bring her some extra love and sunshine. She is one of the most incredible ladies ever! She is sharp as a tack, with humor and wit that are hysterical and the grace of a true lady. Seeing I'll be traveling (via car) this weekend, it'll be kinda quiet here on Boho Baby Bump. The picture above is from the last time they visited us and got to have some Forest boy cuddles. ;)

I'm going to go do some much needed laundry and start gathering things for the trip. I'm seriously debating on going up to Target or Wal-Mart and buying a portable dvd player for the car ride for Kael. We'll see...

Have a beautiful, beautiful weekend!
