5 Months Old

Have you been having a lovely February so far? I have some really neato news! The blog has reached a whopping 400 followers! Oh my goodness. Wow. I'm excited to meet you guys as you peek in and enjoy the tid bits and musings here. It makes me smile to hear about you and your families. So, please drop me a line or scribble a comment. Hey, hey and welcome lovelies!

My little handsome is 5 months old already. Is that even possible? I find my days are more colorful and humorous than they were in the early days of Forest's babiness. His smiles, expressions that I interpret as a number of thoughts, make me laugh all throughout the day. One of my friends told me that as they grow some of the things that were hard early on will get easier and some of the things that were easy will get more difficult. um...WORD. haha. Where I used to just lay him down and he'd be content for long periods of time...now he constantly wants to move, explore and be a boy. Very loudly and vocally letting me know when he needs more distractions. Which, I love by the way. At times, when I just want to finish those last few dishes in the sink, it might cause me to sigh and blow a frustrated puff of air to tussle my bangs. It can be hard but when he busts out that smirk... it's over. I can't be upset. That is one of the easier things to me - He interacts with us SO much now. It makes the daily duties and caring so much more rewarding on the tired soul. He loves being on his belly and is starting to scoot. Most of the time he looks like he is sky diving. haha.

Little boy loves the computer and ceiling fans. He talks all time, telling me all his thoughts. *wink* His favorite thing to do is pull his blanket over his head then freak out because he doesn't always know how to pull it down. Then, he smiles and does it over and over again. He constantly is kicking his LEFT leg and is like a fish in the bathtub. He also loves sitting in his daddy's lap while he plays the piano. It's quite amazing and an awe filled moment when I walk in on those daddy/son times. Káel is genuinely fascinated and observant of Sam's fingers, realizing they are making the sounds. I love it. I love my handsomes.

I took these pics a couple days ago. Enjoy.

  7. I just spent my entire morning reading your blog from beginning to end. And my dad asked "Are you just gonna sit on that couch all day" And I said, all emotional, "Yessss." So amazing! Haha! (Oh, I was emotional because I was looking at your sister in law's photo album of Kael... I sound like such a weirdo.. Haha!) Anyway.. He's super cute :) Congrats!

  11. Oh my! The last pictures is too die for adorable! My daughter is just a week younger than your little guy. I remember reading your birth story just days before I went into labor. You, my friend, are a strong, amazing woman. How you did a 40+ hour labor without any pain medication is beyond me. I had a 23 hour labor and after 16 hours couldn't stand it any longer. God bless you girlfriend!

  12. LOL! Rachaelliee - I can relate! I have been following for quite sometime and reading about Jess' life is addictive. There really is something about her that makes you want to hear more. And, I agree with Sarah - Jess you are a very gifted photographer, too! Love this post and love your amazing baby boy! So fun watching and experiencing your life via your blog. You seem to squeeze out the best of everything and inspire me to do likewise.

Thank you for sharing so much with us!

  16. What a handsome little man!!

I'm not sure how I found your blog. I'm pretty sure it was through another blog. But I loved, loved, loved, watching your proposal video! Brought tears to my eyes. And I recently viewed your entire labor through Tirzah Photography's photo blog, and I must say it is well documented! The pictures speak for themselves, and you are lucky to have such a great group of family!!
