Snow.

I've lived in the Carolinas for almost 5 years now and I've never experienced a snow storm. Ok, so maybe this isn't a real snow storm, but to my Texan soul, this is a snow storm guys. At around 6 inches and the prediction of hours and hours of constant snow fall…I'm kind of in a different world right now. My backyard is now a sledding haven. Fuzzy blankets, sister talks, a fresh pot of chili simmering  and group texts from my neighborhood besties about grocery runs and snow men, have my heart feeling fresh and excited. I like it when things slow down. My lists don't seem so long, my stresses about everyday things are faded and all I see is white and the wonder in my boys' eyes.

I'll be playing in the snow with my kids and singing "Let it Go" from Frozen if anyone needs me.

  1. So beautiful! I've been in awe of the snow Georgia has gotten as well. As a fellow Texan, it's amazing! Pure magic!

  3. Come visit New England this time of year! We just got 10" last week...and people still had to go to work! Haha! Now another 6" tonight...winter wonderland for sure. Well, maybe wonderland isn't always the right word... ;) Regardless, that much snow is like Heaven for kids.

  6. Lovely photo. One good things we could do during winter is to take lots of photos while everything is in white..

  7. Hahaha. Winter this year has been absolutely terrible. I grew up in Iowa, where getting 8 inches of snow a week wasn't unusual. (That's nothing compared to Minnesota or Chicago, of course.) When I moved to Indiana, I was surprised to learn that the winters were milder ... until this year, that is! This has been our third-snowiest year on record! I think that happened just about everywhere, and it's no fun that the weather dipped into the Carolinas and Georgia, even. I'm with you on "Frozen," though--it's been stuck in my head since the Oscars!
